WVU researcher studies new treatment for pancreatic cancer

If the American Cancer Society’s projections prove accurate, more people will die from pancreatic cancer than from breast, brain, ovarian or prostate cancer this year. WVU researcher Brian Boone was part of a team that studied a new combination of drugs to treat pancreatic cancer. In their meta-analysis, the drug combination — FOLFIRINOX — was associated with better surgical options and longer overall survival.
